Saving serious Cash on Baby’s little needs
I have three kids, as I have perilously mentioned, which means I have had sets of bouncers, swings, bottles, blocks, and numerous other odds and ends. What have I learned by baby number 3? Unfortunately, so many things I wish I had after baby number 1.
I have found that our little bundles of joy take serious bundles of cash to raise. Odiously, this is not news, for anyone. However, my approach to saving money in the process has become so. I no longer stroll the well light and well marketed lanes of my local Target or Carters. I have found their beautiful clothes can be found in other places, and blindingly cheaper.
In my quest for new(er) shoes, pants, and toys has lead me to new places. Our local WIC
office has a clothing, toy, and shoe exchange corner. (If your office does not suggesting starting one is a great idea.)
It is also a great idea to host a baby clothing exchange party in your home or church. Such parties can open your “known mother” base and the more moms you have included the more clothes or items available for trade.
Looking at popular places like thrift shops and EBAY are also great choices. Many Ebay-ers packed onesies, shirts, socks, and other misc items into a bu-now lot making buying a few items affordable. It is also a good idea to look for a boutique children’s consignment in your area. Shopping there might mean consigning older clothes as well for store credit.
Money Saving Coupons
Not interested in buying secondhand? If so, you should be abreast of every Carters coupon, Target sale, or E-bates coupon available for your purchase. Utilizing the marketplace’s shopping incentives does not make you cheap, it makes you savvy. Department stores like Khols and Target lure customers to their doors with these deals. Taking part in coupons and sales makes you the shopper a wiser shopper. Saving yourself time and energy by signing up for these mailing from the desired company(s) so when you are ready to shop their current deals are at your fingertips.
Money Saving Apps
Your iphone is also a tool in your savings arsenal. Money savings apps like Cartwheel by Target give you digital coupons at the ready. Another good one is Shopkicks, this app saves money with digital coupons from Target and also earns points you can apply towards Redbox, Coach, and Tiffanys Co. Whichever route you choose (or a healthy mix of many) will help you towards a little extra wiggle room in your clothing budget.
